Initiated and conducted a drama program for the school

1966-1969: University Tutorial College, London taught English to "A" level
 

1969-1971: Berlitz, Sorbonne Branch, Paris taught English to professionals and academics.
Led a series of lectures on such writers as Joyce and Beckett

1971-1972: Tundra Books, Montreal; editor

1971-1985: Dawson College, Montreal taught literature, creative writing and drama.
Chaired the English department
 

1986-2014: Safdie & Compay, President & CEO. Oversaw and coordinated daily
operations, directed personnel and human resources, travelled
extensively to establish and oversee supply chains.
Company grew twelve fold during time as CEO.

Forge (Montreal), Prism International (Vancouver), International Times (London)
to the World Literature Magazine(Beijing)

VOLUNTEER WORK
 

1966-1969: The Tower Theatre, London, England Assisted in various aspects of directing and production.

1971-1985: Dawson College, Montreal: served on numerous boards and committees,
for example, created an international student travel for credit Program,
worked on the curriculum, served on the Committée de Relation de Travail and the Senate,
founded the literary magazine ARCADY (1977- still active) and acted as consulting editor.

1977-1985: Dawson College Developed a Creative Writing program and hosted visiting writers throughout.

1982-1986: Coordinated and founded the Alternative Playwrights ' Workshop.

1990-1995: Playwrights Workshop, Montreal, QC
Served on the board and on numerous committees, local and national,
participated in events throughout.

1995-2005 Playwrights’ Workshop, Acting as President and helped realize a number of fundraising events,
including three art auctions. Established a national status for the local organization, now over 50 years.
 

1999- Present Traquen'art Productions
President since 2001 while coordinating musical events and sourcing groups
from around the world for Musique et Traditions du Monde and Musique Actuelle,
with annual attendance at WOMEX.

2001- 2015 Philmultic
President overseeing the activities of the organization,

produced albums, coordinating and promoting tours of world and contemporary musicians.
 

2005-2013 Blue Met/Metropolis Bleu--- International Literary Festival
Advisory Committee
Worked with Linda Leith on international events and fundraising.

2013-Present Blue Met/Metropolis Bleu--- International Literary Festival English Program Committee


1990- Generally involved in sourcing and coordinating projects and activities in Theatre,
world music and the visual arts, especially from China, India and Mexico including
currently such organizations as the Kathakali Theatre of the Cochin Cultural Center,
Kerala, India or the R. Murray Schafer Patria Music/Theatre project and the Theatre des Amriques Festival.
Produced first Canadian play in China(Colleen Wagner, The Monument).
Coordinated Major Art Exhibition in the Beijing Forbidden City, Sylvia Safdie and John Heward,
in conjunction with the Canadian Embassy.
